Fluorescent Lamps Disposal There are only a few methods which you can use for your fluorescent lamp disposal based on the latest laws and regulations. One option is to contract with a recycling company to haul away your spent lamps for disposal once you collect many boxes of them which you have to store until you amass a large collection of them. Or, you can use an Akon onsite crusher which will shred the lamps into tiny bits that collect in standard fifty five gallon drums. Each drum will hold up to about 1350 crushed bulbs and will take up a fraction of the space of the traditional “box and store” method.

While the type of light tubes used varies based upon the type of building and their lighting needs, one constant remains. There are often hundreds of thousands of bulbs which need to be replaced and disposed of. To make matters worse, each of these light tubes contains some amount of mercury-containing calcium phosphate powder. The amount of mercury within each of these light tubes varies upon their brightness, size, and the supplier.  The problem is that disposing of this many lamps will result in injuries, storage costs, disposal costs, and pollution of the atmosphere.

beer-bottle-crusher Akon supplies restaurants, hotels, bars, and taverns with beer bottle crushers which decreases the amount of storage space required to store empty bottles. In addition to freeing up space that would otherwise be wasted on storage, the beer bottle crusher also saves on labor.  For instance, a bartender that has to run empty bottles back to the storage room is wasting valuable time that should be spent at the bar serving customers.

The beer bottle crusher can be installed under the counter which is near the bartender. This allows for rapid crushing of empty beer bottles, liquor bottles, wine bottles, and even champagne bottles. Since the crusher is located under the counter, it stays out of sight and out of the customers view.

Using the Akon fluorescent light disposal machine results in many environmental benefits by reducing pollution that results from broken fluorescent lights. Mercury is a toxic metal that is a critical component of all fluorescent lights that are produced today. When these lamps break, as a result of packing, storing, transporting or disposal, the majority of the mercury is released into the atmosphere. This mercury is then inhaled by any human who is within close range of the breakage. In addition, mercury accidentally released from broken lamps can get into the water system and then into the fish and water that we eat and drink.
