The bulbs are most often times 4 feet and 8 feet long tubes and must be handled with extreme care or they could break and seriously cut the worker. An 8 foot long bulb contains about 19 to 76 milligrams of mercury, while a typical 4 foot bulb contains 3 to 6 grams of phosphor powder that is coated on the inside of the fluorescent glass light bulb.
