  Once compacted, the bulb is broken into 100% recyclable material. The dangerous mercury vapor is also captured with the use of the industrial bulb compactor. This dangerous mercury vapor is collected with the on-board filtration system, which once filled, can easily be exchanged for a fresh filter.

This filtration is ideal as it protects the workers from inhaling any mercury into their lungs. In fact, recent research has shown that 99.9% of the harmful mercury and dust particles are completely removed from the lamp. This three stage filtration process protects the operator and the environment.

Industrial light bulb compactor operation

To operate the fluorescent light bulb crusher, the operator simply switches on the power switch. Once the system is powered, he can then begin to manually feed the light bulbs into the light bulb chute. The compactor will then crush the bulbs into tiny fragments which will collect in the 55 gallon drum below. This drum will hold approximately 1,350  48 inch fluorescent lamps.

Once the drum is completely filled, the industrial light bulb compactor can be un-mounted and moved to an empty drum. The process then repeats until all of the light lamps are completely disposed of.  In addition, there is a safety control panel which allows the operator to monitor seven safety features and other performance metrics of the machine.
