Akon Crusher and Shredders supplies many customers with our T8 T10 and T12 Light Tube and Bulb Crusher to eliminate the need to ship out boxes of spent lamps to a recycling facility. This process of packaging bulbs by hand requires a lot of man hours and resources as they relate to storing the boxes. In addition, a facility that is manually packing lamps must purchase boxes, tape, packaging material and labels. These costs can add up quickly, especially when there are hundreds, if not thousands of bulbs to package.

T8 T10 and T12 Bulb Crusher as an Alternative

There is however a solution which will not require a substantial cost to you company. That solution is the T8 T10 and T12 Light Tube and Bulb Crusher. This machine is the equivalent to moving the recycling facility to your plant or office. This machine eliminates the hassles, dangers, and costs associated with shipping out boxes of used lamps. The crusher, as shown in this post, simply mounts to the top of a fifty five gallon container and plugs into a standard wall outlet. Once plugged in, the user switches on the power and begins the process of crushing the light tubes, of almost any diameter and length.

Feeding bulbs into the machine is simple and safe and only requires one user to operate the equipment. Inside of the crusher, there are spinning chains which crush the T8 light tubes into tiny fragments. These tiny fragments will then collect inside of the container, which will hold up to 1500 crushed T8 T10 and T12 lights (see matrix on spec page for actual capacities). This greatly reduces storage expense compared to storing boxes and boxes of un-crushed lights.

The unit also features a filtration system which will capture 99.99% of the mercury vapor which is inside each and every lamp. This prevents the operator from being exposed to the dangerous gas vapors which could result in serious sickness from prolonged exposure. Once this filter is saturated from extensive use, it is easily removed, placed on top of the crushed glass, and the sealed inside the container with the crushed bulbs.

Key Benefits of Our Bulb Crusher

Greatly reduce the risk of injury to the operator from accidental bulb breakage.

Greatly reduce storage required to keep un-crushed bulbs.

Eliminate the risk of mercury from being inhaled by the operator from accidental bulb breaks.

Eliminate costs of purchasing boxes, packaging tape, packaging material, freight costs, and coordination for removal.

Significant savings in man hours as a crushed bulb requires only 1 second to completely crush.
